She said this is because the recruitment process may be prolonged due to a lack of qualified applicants, or applicants may be contacted later if there are vacancies.

However, she said applying online only “scratches the surface” when it comes to maximizing your chances of finding a new job.

She adds that building relationships is the most powerful tool a job candidate can use.
