One of the most important lessons I learned as an agent stemmed from a regrettable experience with a member of my team. Although I strive to hire people of integrity, unfortunately, I have encountered situations where a real estate agent on my team took advantage of my trust and goodwill for personal gain. Over a period of approximately five years, this individual used my reputation to further his own business, ultimately defrauding me and stealing my business.

Reflecting on this experience, I realize the importance of thorough vetting and discernment when selecting team members. While I was aware of some red flags regarding this person’s reputation, I made the mistake of extending the second chance without adequately addressing the underlying issues. This lapse in judgment is a powerful reminder of the need for increased vigilance and concern in maintaining the integrity of my business and the individuals associated with it.

While this experience was undoubtedly challenging, I am grateful for the lessons it taught me. Going forward, I am committed to remaining alert to potential red flags, fostering a culture of accountability, and prioritizing the recruitment of individuals who align with our values ​​of honesty, loyalty, and professionalism. I believe this experience will ultimately propel me to new heights of success and strengthen the foundation of our organization.
