As a real estate agent, you must always be on your toes. For Jesse Crouch, however, it was more literal. Known as the “Rocketette Realtor,” this member of the world-famous Radio City Rockettes spends her time taking buyers on tours of some of New York City’s most beautiful luxury spaces.
At the age of 20, Crouch moved to New York City from his small hometown in California, where he joined the Rockettes and subsequently obtained his real estate license. Learn more about her businesses and be sure to follow her adventures (including real estate and show business) on Instagram.

What’s one of the biggest lessons you’ve learned in real estate?
You need to advocate for yourself. In real estate, you will deal with a variety of agents with different personalities, some of whom are stronger than others.
At the beginning of my career, I would avoid conflict, but quickly realized the need to speak up, especially when a client’s needs were not being met. Today, I still don’t like confrontation, but I won’t shy away from the necessary conversations needed to make a deal.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
If you don’t arrive 5 minutes early, you’ll be late!
What would you tell a new agent before they start in the business?
Really take the time to find the brokerage that’s right for you. When it comes to support, be honest with yourself about what you need. At the end of the day, you hire the brokerage just like they hire you.
If you could do anything else besides real estate, what would you do?
I’m doing another thing: dancing with the Radio City Rockettes! My story is unique in that I started dancing professionally 12 years ago and then decided to get my real estate license.
The beauty of real estate is that you can create your own schedule, which frees you up to pursue other passions.

I am currently working with a foreign buyer who wants to purchase a property in the Plaza Hotel but the location has not been seen yet. After a long day of FaceTime tours, he decided to submit an all-cash offer at full price, but he wanted the furnishings (estimated value at $45,000) included.
Seller rebuttal Exceed The asking price ended up killing the deal entirely.
It’s heartbreaking to say the least, but a failed trade is always a good opportunity for me to reflect on what I could have done differently and refine my approach to future trades.
