Goldman Sachs promotes Kyrie Hario

Carey Hario, Goldman Sachs’ The head of strategy and investor relations will be promoted to the bank’s global finance chief, people familiar with the matter said.

Her new role, effective June 1, includes managing the company’s balance sheet of more than $1.6 trillion, with responsibilities including overseeing the company’s liquidity, financing and capital. She will report to Goldman Sachs Chief Financial Officer Dennis Coleman.

Former global finance chief Philip Berlinski is leaving the bank to become co-chief operating officer of Millennium Management, a $62 billion hedge fund, according to the bank. Financial Times.

As part of his new role, Halio will be responsible for managing a team of about 900 people, people familiar with the matter said. She will also serve as a member of the Management Committee.

Prior to heading strategy and investor relations, Halio served as Goldman Sachs’ U.S. bank executive and Goldman deputy treasurer. She joined the firm in 1999 as a summer associate in the credit risk group and rejoined the following year, eventually becoming head of the Americas Financial Institutions Credit Risk group.

Jehan Ilahi, who has worked in strategy and investor relations at Halio for many years, will become head of investor relations.

Goldman Sachs is scheduled to report first-quarter earnings on Monday.
